MMM: I want attention!

It's MARDI GRAS by Mixed Media Monday.  I find it an hard theme, but finally  decide to make this collage in my art journal. 

Made the background with paper that i put in mosaic tiles on the pages and covered it with Gesso. So its like they are walking on tiles. Cut a lot of people and change bodies, clothes and more to make new people. Add accents with copic markers.

The text is I want attention, but i dont get it!

Het is CARNAVAL bij Mixed media Monday. Ik vond het een moeilijk thema en kwam op te veel ideeën, die niet werkte. Uiteindelijk kwam ik op dit idee, een collage in mijn art journal.

De achtergrond is gemaakt van stukjes gekleurd gescheurd papier en die zijn in mozaïek stijl geplakt, bedekt met een laag gesso. 

 UIt tijdschriften diversen mensen, kleding, hoofden etc geknipt, en zo de personages opnieuw opgebouwd. Details aangebracht met Copic Markers. Tekst en randen ( het zijn gekleurde neonbuizen) komen ook uit een tijdschrift.

Mixed Media: JAPANESE STREET FASHION

By mixed media monday is this week the theme, FASHION  I love the japanese street fashion.

Here is an explanation on what is on this spread. Dont think that these are the only ones, because there are much more fashion styles, but i think these are the important and weird ones.

DECORA CHAN
Decora means ‘decorative’ in Japanese, which basically means to dress up decoratively to show the kawaii (cuteness) aspect of self-expressionism in fashion.

Made the background with original Kawaii papers and stickers.

MAID CAFE

A specific form of COSPLAY (dress as a manga, anime or computergame person) were you dress as a Manga maid. There are typical Maido cafe's.

Made the background with gesso, black markers, some manga sign, and lace.

LOLITA

Lolita has her influence in Victorian clothing as well as costumes from the Rococo period.

Background is made with chalk and put some swirls in it, flowers and pink scribbles.

GOTHIC LOLITA

A specific form of Lolita. Influenced by the Visual Kei (Japanese rock, with typical costums, lots of make up, and extreme hair. Popular is the band Malice Mizer with former singer Mana, who introduced the terms "elegant Gothic Lolita".

Background is made with SU color wonders, alcoholinkt.

GANGURO

"Black face girls" blond or orange hair and tan skin. The girls color there totally body. Black eyeliner and white concealer to cover eyes and lips. False eyelaches and lots of plastic facial gems.

Background acrylpaint with gold, so it change color when you turn the page (from orange, to gold), gemstones, paper liner purple, flowers.

Diverse kleding stylen van de japanse straat mode. Decora chan is jezelf verkleden als een kawaii figuurtje, zoals Hello Kitty. Maid cafe, komt van cosplay en is jezelf verkleden als een manga, animatie of computergame personage en dan speciaal het dienstmeisje, er zijn specifieke restaurants en bars. Lolita komt voort uit het victoriaanse tijdperk en de rococo periode. Er zijn meerder varianten zoals de sweet lolita, of gewoon Lolita, waarbij juist heel erg meisjesachtig gekleedt wordt, een andere vorm is de Gothic Lolita, wat weer voorkomt uit de Visual Kei, de voormalige zanger van de band Malice Mizer, Mana heeft de term elegant gothic lolita in de wereld geholpen. Ganguro kenmerkt zich door extreem blond of oranje haar, de meisjes kleuren hun hele lichaam om op californische meisjes te lijken, gebruiken veel zwarte eyeliner, en veel wit op ogen en lippen.

Play with crowabout: Man in the Moon.

First entry to Play with Crowabout.

Print the images two times. First made the colors pale and print on normal paper. Second made the colors black and white with more contrast and print on sheet.

Eerste keer dat ik mee doe aan Play with Crowabout.

De plaatjes zijn twee keer geprint. Eerst de kleuren vaal gemaakt en geprint op normaal papier, en bij de tweede de kleuren omgezet naar zwart/wit met veel contrast, en toen geprint op sheet.
